The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will be revealed on August 9 in New York. The design of the new phablet will closely resemble the previous generation, but the S-Pen should have several new features. It's now possible for those in the US to reserve the Note 9, and for everyone to see it in a leaked hands-on video.
Reserve the Note 9 now
If you're in the US, it's possible to reserve the Note 9 despite the fact that it hasn't even been officially revealed yet. If you're keen to get your hands on the Note 9 as soon as possible, you'll want to head over to the Samsung website to reserve yours today. Being first in line gets you early access to pre-ordering and your device is guaranteed to deliver by the launch date, August 24. The reservation process also allows you to specify which US carrier you use, or whether you want an unlocked phone or to trade in your old device for up to $450.
If you're still on the fence about whether or not to reserve the phablet, which would make sense since there's a lack of official details on it for now, you should at least take a look at the leaked hands-on video below to see if the potential design appeals to you.
Hands-on video shows familiar design
We've seen pictures, renders and a ton of rumors about the design of the Note 9, but we've yet to see anything that looks like a real Note 9 on video until now.
The video itself is blurry, but the device shown appears to be real rather than a clone or dummy given the obvious quality and the fact that it matches up with the renders leaked by none other than the notorious leaker Evan Blass (shown below). You'll notice from the video that the design hasn't changed much from the previous generation, but the bezels appear to be a bit thinner and the fingerprint scanner is under the horizontal rear camera.
Evan Blass demonstrated the possible appearance of the new phablet on his Twitter account. Blass published three new images of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 in black, blue and brown.
They show the phablet with the usual narrow display bezels from the front and the unusual camera design at the back. The S-Pen rests by its side, showing no external difference to the pen of the Galaxy Note 8 apart from the different colors.
On sale August 24
You will have to wait until it goes on sale on August 24 to get your hands on the Galaxy Note 9. August 24 is less than two weeks after the presentation of the smartphone on August 9 in London and even before the start of the IFA 2018 in Berlin. According to industry insiders, the reason for the early start is the poor sales figures of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. The Galaxy Watch and a Bixby loudspeaker will also be introduced.
It will cost over $1000
Famed leaker Roland Quandt claims to have learned from his sources in dealer circles, that the entry into the Note series will cost over 1,000 euros. More precisely, around 1,050 euros for the base Galaxy Note 9 with 128 GB memory in Germany. That's around 950 GBP and almost $1,230.
But it will be really expensive for the model with 512 GB memory. This should cost a good 1,250 euros, or around $1,460. Information on variants with 64 or 256 GB internal memory is not available according to Quandt's dealers. However, a 256 GB version at a price of 1,150 Euro is at least conceivable.

Not in MY hands. Crazy to pay THAT much just for a smartphone. No matter how "colorful, stylish, thin, and sexy" it is.

Even though I think the phone is for a Niche market audience, this price is surreal.
It's like an offense for people that actually likes technology (specially smartphones) and wants to buy these products.
I thought my Note 4 was too expensive when I got it, but it is still working fine so I'll use it till I can't repair it anymore. I will miss the stylus and ability to make notes, but I'll never spend more than $400 to $500 for another phone again. The price they are asking is ridiculous and their greed may kill the sales of the new Note phones.
Not likely. The niche will still purchase them
I have a Note 8 right now, and I love it. I have had both a Note 4 and Note 7 as my daily driver as well. Always loved them. I think the reason for the crazy asking price is to make up for the money lost on the Note 7. It is indeed a crazy high asking price, but I can understand their desperation in order to maintain profit to keep building new tech.
i think this is samsung's way of letting the note line go. suicide to charge that much for a phone.
$1,200 for something that is made to only last 2 years. Any body who pays that for planed obsolescence is like Rusty said a fool being parted from his money. If it had a removable battery and a long life span that would be a different story.
Even if it had a removable battery and a long life span only a fool would pay 1050 euros for an ugly electronic notepad like this or any electronic notepad at all. Really dislike the design of the entire 8 and 9 series. For me it's 400 euros max for a phone with or without a bluetooth pen.

If you are stupid enough, to part with THAT kind of money for ANY phone, well...you are a fool, soon to be parted with your money.
I guess as long as consumers will pay that, nothing going to stop them from charging that kind of insane price.
Samsung is supposed to releasing the Note 9 because of bad S9 models Sales,but how can Samsung then expect consumers to spend a £1,000 on a phone,if Samsung wanted to improve the S9 Sales then why?didn"t they just cut the cost of the S9 phones down instead,2018 as been a year when consumers are cutting down on spending too much on the phones they require,Budget phones are getting better and can offer better batterylife than the supposed to be Premium phones,so Samsung & Apple are now under loads more pressure than they thought they were expecting,Why?wasn"t some regulation brought in to stop Apple and Samsung Over Pricing there phones?

It's not greed. If the market bears it, it will work. IF it doesn't it will come down in price. Simple economics
