The Samsung Galaxy A52s was officially presented in August 2021, completing the existing A Series of mid-range handsets from the South Korean company which also includes the Galaxy A52, the Galaxy A52 5G, and the Galaxy A72. In contrast to the other A52 models, it is slightly better equipped, comes in an exclusive color, and also features the faster 25-watt charger right out of the box.
In this overview page, we'll give you the lowdown on pricing and deals, available colors, models, and specs of the Galaxy A52s.
After Samsung unveiled its mid-range Galaxy A52, A52 5G, and A72 in March, the company followed up in August with the A52s, which again comes in two variants with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, or 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Of course, this handset is unavailable in the US, so when it comes to the price, the A52s is €20 more expensive than the A52 5G. In other words, it will cost €449 and €509 for the 6 GB + 128 GB and 8 GB + 256 GB models, respectively.
If you're looking for the A52 5G in the US, it is still available, although those in Europe would be hard-pressed to find that model since it is being replaced by the A52s. Considering this tiny price difference and a superior hardware configuration, it is highly recommended going straight for the A52s.
The Galaxy A52s is available in four colors, just like its two other siblings in the A52 range. However, they have removed the purple model and replaced it with an alternative shade of mint. This means you can pick up the A52s in Awesome Black, Awesome Blue, Awesome White, or Awesome Mint.
The A52s is the most powerful of the three A52 devices from Samsung. In this case, the 5G-capable smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC. The rest of the hardware is essentially completely identical to the A52 5G. This means you also end up with 6 GB/128 GB and 8 GB/256 GB storage options, in addition to expandable storage of up to 1 TB via the microSD slot.
Likewise, there is an FHD+ display with a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED screen alongside a 120 Hertz refresh rate. The quad-cam at the back consists of a 64 MP sensor with OIS, as well an ultra-wide angle 12 MP camera, and macro and depth cameras at 5 MP. Up in front is a 32 MP selfie camera that resides in a punch hole.
Stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos support are on board, in addition to a 3.5 mm audio jack. The handset has IP67-certification rating and houses a 4,500 mAh battery. This makes the battery neither bigger nor faster to charge compared to the other models. However, in this case, Samsung has thrown in the faster 25W charger directly into the box, while the other models feature a 15W power brick.
So if you compare the Galaxy A52s to the other two models, it's immediately clear that it's the most powerful of these three devices. Once again, we must trumpet the fact that you'll benefit from four years of guaranteed security updates. However, with almost the same features as the A52 5G, you will benefit from the more powerful SoC, the faster charger, and you can pick an exclusive color. What's there not to like?
